April Spring fair

The weather was set fair, the signposts were put out to direct our visitors, the stall holders were busy doing the last bits of preparation and there was a special feeling of positive expectation from all involved. We were READY!

The doors were opened and the Shed soon welcomed a steady stream of visitors, members families and friends, and especially welcome were those who were "popping in to see what we actually do"! Lots of membership application forms were completed with 7 new members signed up on the day!

The stalls were busy - lots of items hand made by members, handy crafts, plants from the polytunnel for sale, the cake and candy stall was very popular, as was the Tombola Bottle Stall.... Raffle tickets were selling well and the refreshments in our meeting room were going down a treat!

All too soon it was time for the last event of the day when the Grand Raffle was drawn. Prizes included 2 x 4 balls of golf at local golf clubs, and free Service and MOT voucher, food vouchers from local butchers and hampers and bottles donated by our sponsors. All winners will be contacted by the Secretary/Treasurer.

Already people are asking "when is the next one"! 

At the present time the amount raised in support of our charity is just under £2000. More importantly though, was the number of people who now know more about our shed, what we do, and how they can spread the word to those who they know that might benefit from the activities, support and cameraderie that we can provide.
