I was looking for something to make in the workshop that would use up a lot of the short lengths of CLS timber that we had been donated by various sauces. I saw a picture of a “star” shaped bench made from off cuts of timber online and had thought that something like that would be ideal for using up the timber we had.
producing something that we could pass on to the local community charities/groups in the area. I drew out some plans, made a jig for cutting the timber components to size and we set about making our first Star bench.
It has been a success and we have already received orders for benches from various people who have seen it during the build. Hopefully a project that we can get many of our members involved in building and produce more “Star” benches for our local community.
